'Halt and Catch Fire' Renewed for Season 3
Get ready to upgrade to Halt and Catch Fire version 3.0.
AMC has renewed the 1980s computer-geek drama for a third season, the network announced today. Season 3 will air for ten episodes next summer, with co-creators/writers Christopher Cantwell and Christopher C. Rogers being elevated to showrunners.
Season 2, which wrapped up in August, saw female programmers Cameron (Mackenzie Davis) and Donna (Kerry Bishé) strike out on their own with Mutiny, an upstart gaming company on the cutting edge of the online revolution. And while Halt has never set the world on fire ratings-wise (less than half a million viewers tuned in for the Season 2 finale), a spike in critical acclaim — including from us — helped push AMC towards a renewal.
