Happy Cinco de Mayo from Donald Trump: 'I Love Hispanics!' He Says
Donald Trump took to his Facebook page on Thursday to wish everyone a "Happy Cinco de Mayo" – and to tell the world that he "loves Hispanics."
Trump posted a picture of himself digging into a taco bowl while sitting at his desk in Trump Tower in Manhattan and giving a thumbs up.
He captioned the picture, "Happy Cinco de Mayo! The best taco bowls are made in Trump Tower Grill. I love Hispanics!"
Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton was quick to respond to Trump's Facebook post, taking to Twitter to reference an interview the billionaire businessman gave to NBC News' Lester Holt on Wednesday.
Asked by Holt whether he stands by his promise to deport America's undocumented immigrants, Trump replied, "They're going to be deported. Look, we either have a country or we don't. We have many illegals in the country and we have to get them out and go through a process, go through a system and ones who have done well and have really achieved we want to bring them back in."
Trump launched his presidential campaign in June by promising to build a wall between the U.S. and Mexico and calling Mexican immigrants "rapists" and "murderers."
At a fundraiser in Arizona last month, Sen. John McCain noted that the Hispanic community is outraged by Trump's remarks.
"If you listen or watch Hispanic media in the state and in the country, you will see that it is all anti-Trump," McCain said. "The Hispanic community is roused and angry in a way that I've never seen in 30 years."
