Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe loves that he was a huge part of your childhood
Daniel Radcliffe knows you’re still obsessed with Harry Potter — and he’s okay with that.
The actor, who’s currently starring in the TBS comedy Miracle Workers, is the guest on the latest episode of PeopleTV’s Couch Surfing, where he looked back on his various roles, including, of course, the most famous of all. “I think it’s something that I’ve become more and more comfortable with,” Radcliffe says, when asked about his relationship with Harry Potter-mania.
“When I was young, I met an old punk who had been in a band that I really liked. So I went up to him and asked him about it, and he literally said, ‘I don’t talk about it.’ And that was kind of sad. I thought it would be sad to look back on this huge period of your life and not embrace it.”
Since Potter, Radcliffe has had a wildly varied career, staring on Broadway, in horror movies, and now, in a comedy series.
“As much as I’m happy to be doing other films now, I’m always genuinely very honored when someone comes up and says, ‘You were a huge part of my childhood.'”
