Hasan Minhaj 'regrets nothing' about panned 'Celebrity Jeopardy!' appearance: 'Scared money don't make money'
Comedy might be subjective, but based on the reaction from Celebrity Jeopardy! fans on Twitter, they didn’t appreciate being subjected to Hasan Minhaj’s jokes. The Patriot Act star was playing to raise money for the International Rescue Committee, which is assisting the humanitarian effort following the devastating floods in Pakistan. While he managed to secure the organization a $30,000 donation, Minhaj had less luck when it came to winning over the audience.
The comedian’s energy level was much higher than the other contestants, Wil Wheaton and Troian Bellisario. In an attempt to bring levity to the game, Hasan often mugged into the camera and answered clues with comedic schtick. Unfortunately, the game is so fast-paced that deviating from the natural rhythm often frustrates fans.
Hasan Minhaj is definitely the most annoying person on the planet and I can't believe I watched #CelebrityJeopardy this long before turning it off.

I can’t stand this guy named Hasan on #CelebrityJeopardy. Holy crap, he is the most annoying and cringe person I’ve ever seen. Secondhand embarrassment.

There needs to be stronger rules for #CelebrityJeopardy bc this is not anyone’s personal comedy special - despite Hasan treating it like one

The response on Twitter was overwhelmingly negative. Even fans of Minhaj found his antics to be a bit much.
I love Hasan Minhaj, but he’s doing way too much on #CelebrityJeopardy tonight. He’s taking up so much time trying to be funny.

Hasan Minhaj's behavior can be entertaining in a stand up set.
Less so in #CelebrityJeopardy— Man w/o a Plan (@MidWestMet) October 31, 2022
Annoyed viewers won’t have to worry about Minhaj going forward. The Morning Show star finished in third place and will not be advancing to the semifinals.
Celebrity Jeopardy! airs Sundays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
