Hear Orville Peck, Kylie Minogue Team Up for Rousing Single ‘Midnight Ride’
Orville Peck has dropped a dance floor-ready new single, “Midnight Ride,” featuring Kylie Minogue and Diplo. The anthemic track comes off Peck’s forthcoming LP, Stampede, a follow-up to his recent duets collection Stampede Vol. 1.
“Doing this song with Kylie and Diplo was a dream come true,” Peck said in a statement. “Kylie was the first person I asked to be on Stampede because I knew exactly the kind of magic we could all make together.”

Peck and Minogue debuted the track live during Minogue’s headlining set at Outloud Fest at West Hollywood Pride. The duo, wearing coordinated country outfits, thrilled the crowd with the country-meets-disco jam as Diplo DJ’d onstage.
“Midnight Ride” is Peck’s first new release since Stampede Vol. 1, a collection of duets he has recorded with Willie Nelson, Elton John, Noah Cyrus, Midland, Allison Russell, Nathaniel Rateliff, and Bu Cuaron. Peck first previewed Stampede Vol. 1 with a special collaboration with Nelson, “Cowboys Are Frequently Secretly Fond Of Each Other.” In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, the musician discussed working with the country legend to cover the Ned Sublette classic.
“Willie kept talking about how the subject matter in this song was more important than ever. He wanted it to have a new life with the two of us,” Peck shared. “With all the rhetoric surrounding the LGBTQIA+ community these days, it is so encouraging to have real allies like Willie that aren’t afraid to stand proudly next to us.”
Peck is currently touring in support of the release on his North American Stampede Tour, which continues through the fall. Earlier this week, he announced his 6th annual Rodeo event. Hosted by John Waters, the rodeo will take place on Aug. 24 at Nashville’s Ascend Amphitheater, with a kickoff party at Basement East on Aug. 23 and a closing party at Brooklyn Bowl on Aug. 25. It will feature performances from Medium Build, Mickey Guyton, Reyna Roberts, and The Nude Party, and a headlining set from Peck & Tanya Tucker. Tickets are on sale June 12.
