Heidi Klum (‘America’s Got Talent’) pushes Golden Buzzer for singer Dee Dee Simon: ‘My stomach was talking to me’ [WATCH]
On the August 27 episode of “America’s Got Talent,” it was Heidi Klum‘s turn to push the Golden Buzzer LIVE during the Quarterfinals. The German-American judge explained how she wanted to follow her gut and pick an act that moved her emotionally, and she ultimately decided on Dee Dee Simon. This 45-year-old singer from Oakland, California works as a registered nurse at a state prison, but singing has always been her true passion. Watch the video above.
“My stomach was talking to me,” Heidi revealed after the emotional confetti shower moment. “You were the best in my eyes tonight — you’re amazing!” Thanks to Heidi’s Golden Buzzer, Dee Dee now advances directly to the Finals of “AGT” Season 19, where she will join Hakuna Matata Acrobats (Sofia’s pick), AIRFOOTWORKS (Howie’s choice), plus more contestants to be named later.

The other acts who competed on Tuesday night were sideshow clown Jelly Boy the Clown, singer and keyboardist Journeyy, aerialist Kelsey Jane, comedian Learnmore Jonasi, electric guitarist Maya Neelakantan, boyband Menudo, singer Reid Wilson, dance group Sabrina, magician Sam Huang and band The Reklaws. Three of these acts will advance to the Semi-Finals based on America’s overnight votes, to be revealed during the August 28 results show.

Here is what the “America’s Got Talent” judges had to say about Dee Dee’s rendition of “Lose Control” during Tuesday’s live show:
Howie Mandel: “You knocked your shoes off. You knocked my shoes off. And I gotta tell you something. I would imagine Jelly Roll is gonna be posting that. You made him proud. You made it your own. You were amazing.”
Simon Cowell: “I love moments like this, when someone isn’t a full-time singer, but has always dreamed of it. You get the opportunity, and there was no holding you back. There was no fear. And it was like, ‘You know what, this is who I am.’ You just went for it. I loved the moment when you kicked your shoes off and it just went up a gear. You know, Dee Dee, I think you’ve given yourself a shot at winning the whole competition.”
Sofia Vergara: “A real person living her dreams. That was amazing, the whole thing. The song, this is more your lane. I loved this performance even better than the audition. Congratulations, you’re a star today.”
Heidi Klum: “I mean, Dee Dee, your range, the tone in your voice. You look so stunning tonight. But I feel like something is missing, like a sparkly belt, a sparkly ring, something gold. My stomach is talking to me. My stomach is talking — [pushes Golden Buzzer].”
