AKRON, Ohio (WJW) — Calling all fans of the original “Twister.” Helen Hunt is coming to Akron to help revisit the iconic 1996 film.

As the sequel “Twisters” is being released July 19, it makes sense to look back at the movie that started it all. That’s where the Live Conversation with Helen Hunt event at the Akron Civic Theatre event comes in.

The Academy Award-winning actor is coming to the theater Sept. 28 at 8 p.m. to offer insights about “Twister” following a screening of the film, which follows storm chasers rolling all over Oklahoma in pursuit of a tornado outbreak (and who could forget the flying cow?).

Along with Hunt, “Twister” starred the late Bill Paxton and Philip Seymour Hoffman and also Cary Elwes, and raked in about $494 million at the box office.
