Hilaria Baldwin slams publication for asking if she's pregnant 3 months after her miscarriage: 'This one feels extra upsetting'
Hilaria Baldwin will break her own pregnancy news — if and when she becomes pregnant again.
The author and yogi, who is married to Alec Baldwin, said that three months after her miscarriage — which she shared publicly as it was happening — it really bothered her to have a media outlet call to inquire for a story whether she is secretly pregnant again.
“My immediate response is ‘no’ because I’m not — and that is simple,” the mom of four wrote on Instagram. “But given what happened this spring, I have to say that this call really bugged me.”
Baldwin wrote that it’s annoying to get any type of comment call because they are “invasive” when she’s “just living my life” and a tabloid contacts her “to tell me they will share something about my personal life — usually made up.” But having a miscarriage and being so public about it made the call digging for dirt about a possible pregnancy “extra upsetting,” she said.
She went on to write that, “When, and if, I’m pregnant again, I will probably share it right away. I’ve suffered publicly and was glad I was so open. I stand behind my decision to open up as I did,” as we’ve entered a time where “so many healing conversations are happening surrounding fertility and infertility.”
That said, “I’m asking that you await me telling the news ... if it happens,” she wrote. Baldwin — who shared a sweet video of herself playing with her kids along with the post — noted, “It will be MY news...just as any woman has the right to share herself what is happening with her body and her baby.”
In early April, Baldwin revealed on Instagram that she thought she was having a miscarriage. She said she shared the news with her followers because it was “important to show the truth.“ She confirmed the miscarriage soon after.
While some criticized Baldwin for sharing she said she did it because sharing it makes it less scary. "This is not about me, this is about all of us,” she said on the Today show.
Alec spoke out about the loss too, saying, “It was sad” and “It broke my heart a little.” The actor added that he and Baldwin, who married in 2012, “aren't done” having kids just yet.
