Hillary Clinton's spooky Halloween story about the 2016 election
On Halloween, Hillary Clinton stopped by The Daily Show With Trevor Noah for a spooky interview. The former secretary of State was there with her daughter, Chelsea, to promote their new book, The Book of Gutsy Women: Favorite Stories of Courage and Resilience.
During the show’s cold open, Clinton held a flashlight under her chin and told the story of the 2016 election. “They counted all the votes and even though she got 3 million more, the Orange Man still got into the house,” said Clinton to a group of cast members in children’s costumes. When she was asked how, Clinton replied, “The Electoral College,” and then laughed maniacally.
Later in the show, Trevor Noah wanted to discuss one of the recent conspiracy theories that President Trump has espoused. “I have to ask you a question that has been plaguing me for a while, said Noah. “How did you kill Jeffrey Epstein?” Clinton responded to Noah’s question by laughing quite heartily.
Noah followed up by asking, “What does it feel like being the Boogeyman to the right?” Clinton said, “It's a constant surprise to me. The things they say ... are so ridiculous, beyond any imagination that I could have.”
In the past year, Clinton has been accused of storing her illegal emails in Ukraine, colluding with Russians, and of course murdering Epstien. As for why she is being associated with these conspiracy theories, she’s not really sure, “Honestly, I don't know what I ever did to get them so upset.”
The Daily Show With Trevor Noah airs weeknights at 11 p.m. on Comedy Central.
