Historic shoot-out at Frontier Texas!

Watch history come alive every Saturday in June and witness the historic Pine Street shoot-out of 1884 in person.

If you loved the drama of the hit series "1883," you will love this reenactment of a Western shoot-out. This outdoor event is free.

According to Frontier Texas, this historical drama is based on the true events of the Abilene Pine Street shoot-outof 1884 that occurred on the northeast corner of North First and Pine Street.

Prepare to be immersed "in the drama and excitement of what it might have been like to witness the shoot-out just a few years after Abilene was founded," according to a media release.

In the late 1800s, Abilene had begun the transition from an outlaw town to "a more law-abiding town to appeal to the many railroad travelers." This progress in turn "caused tension amongst the townspeople, lawmen, and leaders," and ultimately led to the historic shoot-out.

Join Frontier Texas this Saturday promptly at high noon on the Parade Grounds in the outdoor courtyard. The shoot-out will last about 10 minutes.

Following the drama, families can meet and interact with the characters and hear a little bit about the history of the 1884 Pine Street shoot-out.

Arrive early and don't miss the first draw of this free, yearly outdoor event that the whole family can enjoy.

Please note that Frontier Texas! is currently under construction, and the restrooms will not beaccessible during this outdoor event.

The remaining dates for the shoot-out include June 1, 8, 22, and 29, so watch history come alive.
