In it, a voiceover spoke about "joy," deeply explaining its origins.
"Joy will not fight with the fast pace of this life. She is not in the shiny or the new—she breathes in the basic, shimmers in the simple, and dances in the daily to and fro. Joy has been beckoning you for many a year, my friend. You are just too busy doing, to see," the voice expressed, in part.
As Parade previously reported, the beloved anchor delivered the life update live on the broadcast on Thursday, Sept. 26, saying, "I realized that it was time for me to turn the page at 60, and to try something new."
"I remembered standing outside looking at these beautiful bunch of people with these gorgeous signs, and I thought, 'This is what the top of the wave feels like for me.' And I thought it can't get better, and I decided that this is the right time for me to kind of move on," she continued at the time.

"Happy Friday… thank you for the beautiful posts and notes. I’ve read them all… It’s almost too much for my heart to carry… so i will let it overflow — i love you more than you know..this post spoke to me. #joy," Kotb captioned the poignant social media upload.
During her initial announcement, she revealed that so far, she's been with NBC for 26 years and that she plans to remain with the network. However, the capacity in which the longtime journalist will stay connected to her career home is unclear.
