Doyle’s new label is jumping aboard the trend for premium docs featuring big talent and access. Workerbee has already made the likes of Lifetime’s Janet Jackson and Netflix’s Human Playground narrated by Idris Elba. Having been handed additional cash by Banijay, the company recently became a group and backed Welsh production label Ty’r Ddraig. Navybee is the second label to be set up within its umbrella.

Workerbee CEO Rick Murray called Doyle “one of the UK’s most sought after access documentary producers and someone talent want to work with again and again.”

“Demi is the most contacted TV producer I know and with a very clear USP, Navybee brings an exciting new talent focussed dimension to Workerbee’s premium documentary slate,” he added.

Doyle said: “It is an incredible opportunity to bring authentic talent-led documentaries to the forefront in a fresh and innovative way.”

The announcement was made as the Edinburgh TV Festival kicked off, bringing together the great and good of the UK TV industry.
