How “House Bunny” Changed Anna Faris' Outlook on Life — Plus Her Hilarious Idea for a Sequel (Exclusive)
The star says the 2008 comedy was a "life-changing role" for her

The actress starred as Shelley, a former Playboy bunny who gets a job as a sorority mother, in the hit 2008 comedy, which also starred Emma Stone, Colin Hanks, Kat Dennings and Rumer Willis.
"It was a life-changing role," Faris, 47, tells PEOPLE. "Fundamentally, career stuff aside, playing a character that had so much compassion and lack of judgment, a character who really led with her heart... it sounds really corny, but I think it made me feel like it was easier to make friends in a weird way."
"That's simplistic, but I loved playing a character who was not competitive with other people, and who was really wonderful," she adds. "That made me want to lead my life with compliments. It felt like kind of a way to combat jealous feelings."

Why, 16 years later, has there not been a House Bunny 2? "I always dream," says Faris, adding of her vision for a sequel: "For a while, I was like, Shelley should be a bad country singer, and then I was thinking, no, she should be a CIA interrogator."
"Her skill is disarming people because she is perceived, and she is, as so open and nonjudgmental. So I was imagining Shelley saying," Faris continues, playfully adding in the character's voice, "'Oh, what do I do for work? I'm a CIA interrogator.' Let's write a script. I would love that."

Faris currently stars in My Spy The Eternal City, an action-comedy led by Dave Bautista and Chloe Coleman. The actress calls Guardians of the Galaxy alum Bautista, 55, an "amazing" costar.
"He's this gentle giant with this quiet charisma," she says, adding, "I hope he knows how much I love and adore him in talking about him. He's a very special human."
