How Netflix Brought ‘Iron Fist’ and ‘The Defenders’ To Life
Marvel’s Iron Fist is finally making its way to Netflix, and according to series star Finn Jones, his character, Danny Rand, needs to answer a crucial question: “Is he a billionaire running a company, or is he a Buddhist monk that has responsibility to the Iron Fist?”
But the question many fans want answered is how the new show will lead into the long-promised Avengers-style crossover series, The Defenders, which will finally unite Daredevil, Luke Cage, and Jessica Jones.
“Danny’s been dealing with this threat,” Jones says. “Which is this huge existential, global threat, and when he comes into The Defenders, he’s the one who understands this threat better than anyone else. And because of that he is the one to kind of drive the Defenders to get behind the cause, to kind of enlighten them to the dangers that are.” Then he quietly adds, “That’s about as much as I can say.”
Marvel’s Iron Fist begins streaming March 17 on Netflix.
