Watch the voice cast of 'How to Train Your Dragon' work its magic in the sound booth
When animated movies work well — which is certainly the case with the beloved How to Train Your Dragon trilogy — it's easy to disconnect the CGI (or in some rare cases, still hand drawn) characters we're watching from the famous actors who voice them.
That's why it's so fun to get a behind-the-scenes look at voice performers doing their thing in the sound booth, as this clip from the threequel How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World's new Blu-ray and Digital release shows (watch exclusively above).
We catch Jay Baruchel (Hiccup), America Ferrera (Astrid), Gerard Butler (Stoic), Craig Ferguson (Gobber), Christopher Mintz-Plasse (Fishlegs), Kristen Wiig (Ruffnut), Kit Harrington (Eret) and more of our favorite dragon trainers at work in the montage, and even learn a thing or two in the process.
Like, one, just because we're not seeing their faces on the screen, doesn't mean they're not just as expressive (or, you know, animated) in delivering their lines. There's no phoning it in from these folks. Though, admittedly, if there was, it probably wouldn't make the Blu-ray.
And two, even though they don't have to worry about wardrobe, everyone appears to be fully clothed. At least from the waist up. This is a family movie, after all — get your mind out of the gutter.
How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World is now available on Digital, and hits Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K on May 20. Pre-order it on Amazon.
