Hugh Jackman is The Greatest Showman of James Corden's Crosswalk Theater

James Corden has finally done it: Crosswalk Theater has made it to Broadway! After tackling such classics as Beauty and the Beast, Mary Poppins, and Hair, the troupe went big for a New York-style musical with the help of Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron, and Zendaya.

But who was the greatest showman? On the surface, that’d be Jackman, the actual star of The Greatest Showman movie musical. If you ask Corden, it’s undeniably him. “You may be playing the greatest showman, Hugh, but I think everybody knows that it is I who is the greatest showman,” he said, emerging as Keala Settle’s character, the bearded lady.

In lieu of performing a traditional musical in the crosswalk just outside Stephen Colbert’s The Late Show studio in Manhattan, the cast performed “New York, New York” from On the Town, “Sit Down You’re Rockin’ the Boat” from Guys and Dolls, “The Greatest Show” from The Greatest Showman, and the titular song of Fame.

“This is not the best way to do a musical… or cross the street,” said Efron, who was a bit perplexed by the whole thing.

Jackman may have butted heads with Corden, who kept calling the Logan star “Huge Jackman.” But their final performance with Jackman as P.T. Barnum made them best buds. “You are the greatest showman!” Corden exclaimed.
