iCarly Movie Teased by Miranda Cosgrove
An iCarly movie is almost certainly about to enter production, according to Miranda Cosgrove.
The actress, who starred in the teen sitcom which originally aired on Nickelodeon from 2007 to 2012, updated fans on her plans.
“I’m pretty sure it’s gonna happen,” she tells Variety. “So I’m excited, and I’d love to get to wrap up the story.” The rebooted iCarly series premiered in 2021 and aired for three seasons on Paramount+. Its fourth season was in production, but got canceled.
“iCarly will not be returning for a fourth season on Paramount+,” a spokesperson for the network said in a statement to People. “The series had a great three-season run and delivered on what fans really wanted to see with Carly and Freddie finally getting together.”
Cosgrove first played the role of Margo at 13. Now 31, there are challenges in stepping back in for a potential movie. “I try to make my voice a little higher and younger when I do the part, but it’s nothing crazy. I kind of have a pretty easy job. It’s usually just really fun.”
Speaking of reboots, the Pirates of the Caribbean reboot is “weird.”
