The Impossible Heir episode 4 aired on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at 5 p.m. KST on Disney Plus. The series follows the story of illegitimate chaebol heir Kang In-Ha (Lee Jun-Young), who seeks the help of his best friend Han Tae-Oh (Lee Jae-Wook) to take control over the conglomerate Kang Oh Group. The two cross paths with Na Hye-Won (Hong Su-Zu), who helps them in this endeavor.

Episode 4 of The Impossible Heir documented Han Tae-Oh’s game plan of getting Kang In-Ha officially into the Kang Oh Group. He hatched a plan while pretending to help Chairman Kang Joong-Mo get rid of his wife, Geum Jae-Suk, and son, Kang Seung-Ju, taking control of the conglomerate. Not only was Tae-Oh successful in this, but he also managed to get In-Ha a seat at the family table and for the latter to call the chairman his father in public.

The Impossible Heir episode 4: Lee Jong-Wook furthers his game plan

The Impossible Heir episode 4 began with Jang Geum-Suk confronting Kang Joong-Mo over letting Kang Seung-Ju lose control of the Center. Joong-Mo slammed her for using Seung-Ju and Congressman Sun-Dong for taking control of the conglomerate. During their argument, Joong-Mo collapsed due to his health issues. But Geum-Suk didn’t bother to save him. After she left the room, Tae-Oh entered and called 911.

Meanwhile, the prosecution office raided Kang Oh Group. However, hearing news of the chairman’s ill health, they had to stop it. This infuriated the prosecutor. On the other hand, Kang In-Ha and Na Hye-Won grew concerned over their plan potentially failing. While visiting Joong-Mo, the Kang family, including the two heirs—Kang Seung-Ju and Kang In-Ju—argued. Tae-Oh asked them to leave as per the doctor’s advice to let the Chairman rest.

On their way back, Geum-Suk asked her daughter Kang Hee-Joo to meet a prospective suitor and get married. Kang In-Ju’s wife advised him to take Tae-Oh on his side. Meanwhile, Geum-Suk advised Seung-Ju to take over the conglomerate as the Acting Chairman. She decided to prepare for an emergency meeting with the key executives of the group.

A nervous In-Ha met Tae-Oh outside the hospital and grew impatient. Tae-Oh asked his friend not to waver; otherwise, their plan would crumble. Meanwhile, Kang In-Ju called Tae-Oh, asking him to become his aide. However, Tae-Oh rejected the offer. In-Ju called his assistant Mo Ki-Joon, beat him up, and asked him to follow Tae-Oh.

At night, Tae-Oh and Hye-Won met at their hideout, where the duo argued over their plans. Tae-Oh asked her to solve her crisis alone, but he only answered to In-Ha. Tae-Oh then went to the hospital, meeting with an awake and healthy Joong-Mo. Apparently, Tae-Oh planned to file a complaint, revealing illegal business between the chairman and Milton law firm. They devised the entire scheme to get rid of Geum-Suk and Seung-Ju’s future threats. Meanwhile, In-Ha ran away to take a break.

Tae-Oh asked Joong-Mo to help him when he faced one of his bigger crises in the future. In return, Tae-Oh would help the chairman gain complete control of the group. Tae-Oh brought out the last piece of the puzzle: In-Ha. Tae-Oh convinced Joong-Mo to use In-Ha as a scapegoat to further his mission and then toss his son out. Unaware of Tae-Oh’s real plan, Joong-Mo agrees to let In-Ha as part of the family.

Chairman Kang Joong-Mo asked Tae-Oh to prepare a contract for In-Ha, mentioning all the necessary conditions. He also asked his aide to bring In-Ha to him once everything was ready. Meanwhile, Hye-Won informed Tae-Oh that In-Ha was missing. Eventually, Tae-Oh found him by the beach and informed his friend that the chairman only pretended to be sick.

At the beach, In-Ha recalled his mother killing herself. After Tae-Oh informed him, he hit his friend for making him concerned about their plan being a failure. Tae-Oh stressed that he didn’t want anything out of their partnership and only wanted to get In-Ha to take over the Kang Oh Group. He asked In-Ha to visit his father in the hospital. Meanwhile, Seung-Ju prepared to take over the Kang-Oh group as the Acting Chairman. On the other hand, Kang Hee-Joo confronted her suitor and rejected his proposal.

On her way back, Hee-Joo stopped in front of Tae-Oh’s car. She caught his attention and confessed her feelings for him, promising to protect him. Tae-Oh rejected her again, asking her to move on from something that would never happen. He reached home and played the recorder, listening to his mother’s favorite song.

The following day, Geum-Suk voted for Seung-Ju to take over Kang Oh Group until the chairman’s return. However, the mysterious hacker managed to transfer 1000 shares to Kang Oh Securities, headed by Seung-Ju. The news became public, leading their stocks to plunge and tarnishing his image. Seung-Ju further received a summons from the prosecutor’s office. Tae-Oh informed the chairman of this while In-Ju enjoyed his brother’s downfall.

In-Ha finally visited his father, claiming that the incident was his introductory move. He signed a deal with his father. If he managed to save the chairman, the latter would officially acknowledge him as his third son. Joong-Mo agreed to the deal, leaving In-Ha to sign the contract to become the official third heir of Kang Oh Group.

Joong-Mo confronted Geum-Suk and Seung-Ju the following day over their actions and subsequent failure. He left a screaming Geum-Suk and her son alone, asking them to come to the board meeting the next day. The same night, In-Ha visited Bisunjae and sat as the third son at the family dinner table. The following day, he helped the chairman to sit in a wheelchair, calling him “father” in front of the public and press. Tae-Oh looked at In-Ha wheeling the chairman inside, completing another successful step in the big plan.
