When is 'Inside Out 2' coming to Disney Plus?

The anthropomorphized emotions of Pixar's 2015 "Inside Out" are back, and they've brought a whole new crew with them for "Inside Out 2". Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust steer the ship in the mind of 13-year-old Riley, a young girl who's headed to high school for the first time.
Now that she's gotten a little older, the "Puberty Alarm" has officially sounded, and four new emotions have unexpectedly arrived to muddle things for her even further: Anxiety, Embarrassment, Envy, and Ennui. In this adventure, all of these new feelings jockey for control over Riley's life.
Across its impressive theatrical run, "Inside Out 2" continued to sweep box office records. Not only did it score Pixar's second-largest domestic animated opening of all time (behind "Incredibles 2") at $154.2 million, but it also set the record for the biggest opening for an animated movie worldwide at $295 million. It's also currently the highest-grossing movie of 2024 (by some margin), having raked in over $1.6 billion worldwide; will "Deadpool & Wolverine" manage to topple it?
Although it's still in theaters, "Inside Out 2" is now finally available to watch from the comfort of your own home on PVOD. But when will it actually land on Disney Plus? Here's everything we know about when and where you can stream "Inside Out 2".
When will 'Inside Out 2' be available on streaming?
While "Inside Out 2" is making its way to Disney Plus very soon, it'll first land on Premium Video-On-Demand (PVOD) streaming services. These are services where you can buy or rent a movie, such as Apple TV, Prime Video, Google TV, or YouTube.
As of August 20, "Inside Out 2" is now available on PVOD services, meaning you can finally watch it without taking a trip to the movie theater.
Are you a physical media person? You won't have to wait too much longer; "Inside Out 2" will be available on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, Blu-ray, and DVD formats from Tuesday, September 10.
When will 'Inside Out 2' stream on Disney Plus?
Incredibly, "Inside Out 2" is still in its theatrical run. While it debuted in theaters nationwide back on June 14 it's now the biggest movie of the year and still going strong.
It'll likely spend quite a while in theaters before exiting, much like "Barbie" did before moving to streaming. According to Pixar's Pete Docter, the film has a 100-day theatrical window. With those guidelines in mind, we predicted it would hit Disney Plus in September or October 2024.
Now though, we finally have a proper streaming date for "Inside Out 2", and it's set to land on Disney Plus on Wednesday, September 25, 2024. The streamer hasn't officially released a statement to confirm this, but they sneakily included the date on their website (disneyplus.com). What's on Disney Plus also announced the release date.
