Inside Styling Duo Wayman Bannerman and Micah McDonald’s 10-Year Anniversary Bash in New York
New York Fashion Week officially kicks off today, but the festivities got started early with a slew of parties across Manhattan last night — some for very good reason. Styling duo Wayman Bannerman and Micah McDonald, best known as Wayman + Micah, headed to The Roof at Public Hotel where they hosted a high-energy party to toast their 10-year styling anniversary.
Bannerman and McDonald welcomed clients, friends and fashion insiders to celebrate their milestone together with pours by Tequila Don Julio, music by DJ Jash Jay and revelry presented by their firm, The Only Agency. Clients like Taraji P. Henson, Tiffany Haddish, Jordan Chiles and more partied the night away well past midnight.

The styling team, with a client roster that also includes Colman Domingo, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Tessa Thompson, Aja Naomi King, Jodie Turner-Smith, Regina King, Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, Jon Batiste, Olivia Munn and more, are frequently named as the top stylists in Hollywood by The Hollywood Reporter. They were featured on the 2024 Stylists of the Year cover in March with Oscar-nominated Domingo, who had a stylish run during awards season as did eventual winner Randolph.
“We really wanted a career that superseded and transcended into something we’ve never seen before,” Bannerman once told Vanity Fair of their goals when starting out as a team. “That’s the connection we had instantly.” McDonald added that they also never wanted to put their style stamp on their clients but rather they have always preferred letting the clients shine. “We’ve never been stylists who wanted to enter something and have we put the ‘Wayman + Micah’ mark on you. No, our job and what we pride ourselves on is creatively making you your best self and bringing that forward.”
As for their personal manta, they told the mag it is made up of these wise words: “Dream like a child; plan like an adult; and follow through like a winner.” And, maybe sleeping in a little today before the madness truly begins at NYFW.
