Ivanka Trump Gave Her Final Word About Her Involvement in Donald Trump's Presidential Campaign
Rumors about Ivanka Trump returning to politics have been circulating for weeks as Donald Trump ramps up his presidential campaign in the final months ahead of the election. If Melania Trump wasn’t interested in joining her husband on the campaign trail, surely Ivanka was, right? Well, everyone might need to slow their roll as the former president’s eldest daughter finally chimed in about the future of her political career.
Ivanka revealed her decision on The Lex Fridman Podcast on Tuesday, July 2, and her answer should come as no surprise if you’ve been paying attention to her post-Washington, D.C. activities. “It’s a pretty dark world. There’s a lot of darkness, a lot of negativity, and it’s just really at odds with what feels good for me as a human being. And, you know, it’s a really rough business,” she explained. “So, for me and my family, it feels right to not participate.”

The former White House senior adviser is sticking to her original statement that she put out when her father announced his third run for the presidency in November 2022. “I love my father very much,” she wrote at the time. “This time around, I am choosing to prioritize my young children and the private life we are creating as a family. I do not plan to be involved in politics.”
With her family-first priority in mind, Ivanka noted on the podcast that you “can’t dabble in” politics. “I think you have to either be all in or all out,” she shared. “And I know today the cost [my kids] would pay for me being all in, emotionally, in terms of my absence at such a formative point in their life.” Ivanka is unwilling to “make them bear that cost” this time around. “As their mom, I think it’s really important that I do what’s right for them,” she added. “And I think there are a lot of ways you can serve.”
Her presence at the Republican National Convention is a sure bet, but she won’t be enforcing her father’s policies this time around — a cameo is all she and Jared Kushner are up for. Ivanka’s final word on Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign puts the Puck News rumors to rest that she was “warming to the idea of trying to be helpful” to her dad. She’s sticking to her softer and more luxurious socialite life in Miami where the water is a lot warmer than in Washington, D.C.
