Ivanka Trump Is Making One Political Exception for Donald Trump During His Presidential Campaign
Ivanka Trump has made it very clear that her political career is over, and she and her husband, Jared Kushner, are diving into the world of luxury hotels with their first property in Albania. While she won’t be campaigning for Donald Trump during his run for the White House again, she is making one exception this summer.
The 42-year-old Miami socialite will be attending the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin from July 15-18, her spokesperson confirmed to the New York Post. Instead of being front and center with a speech in front of the GOP delegates, like she did in 2016 and 2020, Ivanka “will not serve in any political capacity at the event, as a delegate, fundraiser or otherwise.” Her reps have made it very clear that she’s there only to support her father — it’s personal, not business-related.

On the July 2 episode of The Lex Fridman Podcast, Ivanka described politics as “a pretty dark world.” She explained that “it’s just really at odds with what feels good for me as a human being” and that’s why “for me and my family, it feels right to not participate.” Many political pundits thought Ivanka would backtrack from her November 2022 statement and reenter the political world, when, in fact, she was done for good.
Ivanka is prioritizing the well-being of her three children, Arabella, 12, Joseph, 9, and Theodore, 7, because she does not want to “make them bear that cost” that comes with living a very public life. It’s probably bad enough dealing with the comments of having a controversial grandfather, and they are all at an age now where they understand what is going on.
Even with a low-key presence at the Republican National Convention, Ivanka is still a draw for the GOP, and it will be fascinating to see how she navigates that fine line. Donald Trump will also have to rely heavily upon his other children, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, who have not shied away from his political campaign. This moment would also be an opportunity for Tiffany Trump to step out from the shadows and take on the role Ivanka shared during Donald Trump’s two other presidential campaigns.
