How Ivanka Trump Reportedly Hopes to 'Utilize Her Power' With Donald Trump in the White House
Ivanka Trump will not return to Washington, D.C. when her father, Donald Trump, is inaugurated in January 2025, but that doesn’t mean she isn’t interested in her White House-adjacent connections. The 43-year-old socialite will likely step back into the limelight to support her father in indirect ways.
“I expect that we could see Ivanka work with tech leaders and talk about child safety on the internet, as well as her concerns about child trafficking, that’s the kind of thing she concentrated on in the White House,” a Page Six source revealed. “I think we’ll see her utilize her power in that way.” It’s a way for Ivanka to subtly promote her father’s agenda without a senior adviser role.

Her husband, Jared Kushner, confirmed to The New York Times ahead of the election that they are supporting their family member in any way they can. “If he calls her for advice or help on something, we’re always there,” he said. Kushner also divulged that “the world is different for us over the next four years if her father is president.” Now that Donald Trump is the president-elect, Ivanka and her husband will likely be making bigger plans for the next four years.
The president-elect has reportedly tried more than once to entice his eldest daughter and Kushner back into the political fold without avail. “Trump thought he could convince Ivanka this weekend to come back and campaign for him as she was the most requested speaker after the president himself last time around … but so far she’s resisting his entreaties and holding firm, as is Jared,” one source told the New York Post in November 2022 after she exited politics. “They both feel they got burned in Washington and don’t want to go back and expose themselves and their children to another bitter campaign.”
Besides protecting their three children, there was another causality in their lives that still stings — the loss of friendships over the years. While Ivanka maintains a close bond with Kim Kardashian, many other celebrity friends and socialites from their Manhattan days are long gone. “Ivanka is proud of her father, she loves him, but his last presidency took its toll,” the Page Six insider noted. “There were friends who turned their back on Ivanka and Jared because of Donald, and that was hurtful.”
To prevent that from happening again over her father’s second divisive administration, Ivanka is reportedly going to be more stealth in her approach “Now she has a great life, her thoughts are she does not need to be working in the White House to make a difference,” they added. For Ivanka, it’s a delicate balance between private socialite and public policymaker.
