Jack Blessing, Star of ‘Moonlighting’ and ‘The Naked Truth,’ Dies at 66
Jack Blessing, an actor best known for his roles on “Moonlighting,” “The Naked Truth” and “George Lopez,” died at his home in Chatsworth, California at age 66.
Blessing’s death, which occurred on November 14, was confirmed in a Facebook post by his son, Ian Blessing, who told The Hollywood Reporter that his father had been battling pancreatic cancer.
Blessing’s rep confirmed the cause of death in an email to TheWrap.

Blessing may be best remembered as MacGillicuddy from the 1980s crime dramedy “Moonlighting.”
The character worked at the Blue Moon Detective Agency run by Cybill Shepherd’s Maddie Hayes and Bruce Willis’ David Addison.
He also appeared as Tea Leoni’s building manager in the 1990s sitcom “The Naked Truth.”
Blessing appeared in other classic ’80s shows like “M*A*S*H,” “The Golden Girls” and “Family Ties.” He had minor roles in “Mike & Molly,” “The X-Files” and “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.”
Blessing did voice work on animated films including “Megamind,” “ParaNorman,” “Bee Movie,” “Antz” and “Planes.”

Additionally, the actor had roles in live-action films including “Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby,” “Heaven’s Gate,” “Galaxy of Terror,” “Uncle Buck” and “Thirteen Days.”
Born in Baltimore in 1951, Blessing is survived by his wife of 32 years, Lora Staley Blessing, and sons Ian and Christopher.
