Jared Kushner dismisses new accusations about his questionable security clearance
On The Ingraham Angle Monday night, Donald Trump’s senior adviser and son-in-law, Jared Kushner, laughed off renewed scrutiny over his security clearance. This comes after it was revealed that a longtime White House staffer told the House Oversight Committee last month that high-level security clearances were given to 25 people who were originally denied. And although Kushner had to make multiple changes to his security clearance application due to numerous errors and omissions, Kushner claims he did it by the book.
“When I came to Washington I had a very successful business career. I had extensive holdings,” Kushner said. “I disclosed all my holdings to the Office of Government Ethics and what I did then is they told me what to divest and what to keep. What rules to follow.”
The whistleblower, Tricia Newbold, the adjudications manager in the personnel security office of the White House, reportedly told the committee that she has grave concerns over the security clearances, but to Kushner, this is just another in a long line of false accusations.
“Well, I can’t comment for the White House’s process,” Kushner said, “but what I can say is that over the last two years that I’ve been here, I’ve been accused of all different types of things and all of those things have turned out to be false.”
And when Ingraham asked him point blank if he himself is a grave national security concern to the country, Kushner laughed it off.
