Jason Alexander, Britney Spears' ex-husband, arrested at Nashville airport
Britney Spears' ex-husband Jason Alexander was arrested Sunday at a Nashville airport.
Alexander, who was Spears' childhood friend and first husband, was arrested for a misdemeanor attempted air security violation, according to online records obtained by USA TODAY. His bail is set at $2,500, and he is due back in court on Sept. 24.
According to the affidavit, officers were notified of a breach at Nashville International airport after a man who had already gone through a TSA check was allegedly seen entering a non-secure area of the airport then returning to the secure area without going back through TSA. The man was identified as Alexander.
The 39-year-old addressed his arrest on Instagram Live Tuesday, calling it an "inconvenience."
"You end up in handcuffs for something stupid," he said. "The media and police are not your friends."
He continued to subtly discuss the incident, saying he "did nothing wrong."

Alexander and Spears tied the knot in Las Vegas in 2004 for 55 hours. They quickly had their union annulled. That same year, Spears married her backup dancer Kevin Federline, with whom she shares two sons, Sean Preston, 15, and Jayden James, 14. The two divorced in 2006. Spears is currently dating longtime boyfriend Sam Asghari.
Alexander has been vocal about his support for his ex-wife's emancipation from her conservatorship. Earlier this month, the pop singer's father, Jamie Spears, agreed to step down as her conservator in her "best interests," according to a document Jamie is filing with the court and obtained by USA TODAY.

"Even as Mr. Spears is the unremitting target of unjustified attacks, he does not believe that a public battle with his daughter over his continuing service as her conservator would be in her best interests," reads the document.
The decision, if affirmed by the Los Angeles probate court Judge Brenda Penny, is a "major victory and another step towards justice" for Britney Spears, according to her new lawyer, Mathew Rosengart.
He vowed to continue his "vigorous investigation" into Jamie Spears' conduct as conservator while he "reaped millions of dollars" from his daughter's estate.
#FreeBritney: Britney Spears' lawyer accuses father Jamie of trying to 'extort' $2 million before stepping down
Last week, Spears and her attorney said her father is trying to get about $2 million in payments before stepping down from the conservatorship that controls her life and money.
The document filed by Rosengart says the upcoming scheduled accounting of the conservatorship, which Jamie Spears says he wants completed before he steps down, will mean significant payments for him.
"Britney Spears will not be extorted," the filing says. "Mr. Spears's blatant attempt to barter suspension and removal in exchange for approximately $2 million in payments, on top of the millions already reaped from Ms. Spears's estate by Mr. Spears and his associates, is a non-starter."
