Who is Jason Beghe’s ex-wife?

Beghe was actually married for a long time, 20 years, from 2000 to 2020 to Angie Janu. The couple have two children together, sons Bix and Bo Bear. Like her ex-husband, Janu is also an actor and starred in the 1997 comedy movie, Too Good to Be True, according to her IMDb. Unlike other One Chicago spouses, such as Taylor Kinney’s wife Ashley Cruger who made a cameo on Chicago Fire,  Janu was never on Chicago P.D.

The actor filed for divorce in 2017, citing irreconcilable differences. According to a divorce filing obtained by E! News, Beghe agreed to pay spousal support but requested to keep an inherited property in Oklahoma, inherited mineral rights from properties in the state and Texas, and the proceeds from the sale of another property in Washington D.C.

The divorce was finalized in 2020. According to court documents obtained by People, the couple agreed to “share in all major decisions concerning the minor children’s health, education and welfare including, but without limitation, schooling, religion, medical care [and] enrichment activities.”

Beghe and Janu also agreed to refrain from making any “derogatory nor disparaging remarks about the other or the other party’s family members” in the presence of their sons.” The actor was ordered to pay $14,200 per month in child support and $16,700 per month in spousal support.

Chicago P.D. is a show that follows the detectives in the Intelligence Unit of the Chicago Police Department. Led by not-always-by-the-book Sergeant Hank Voight, the Intelligence Unit is tasked with investigating the most complicated cases, and solving the crimes no one else can solve.

On the show, Jason Beghe’s character of Hank Voight has gone from definitely dirty to morally grey, sometimes straddling the line between the two. The show usually portrays Voight as someone with good intentions, but his methods are anything but by the book and they have cost him every close personal relationship he has ever had, from his son Justin to his quasi-daughter Erin, to Jay Halstead and then Hailey Upton, who all left the city.

As of Season 12 of Chicago P.D., Voight isn’t romantically involved with anyone and the show hasn’t tried to introduce a lasting romance for Voight. Whether a romance would be good or bad for Voight remains to be seen, but for now, the show has chosen to leave that side of the character unexplored.
