Jason Derulo Makes Everyone Uncomfortable on ‘So You Think You Can Dance’

After taking a week off, Jason Derulo’s return to So You Think You Can Dance was full of awkward moments. It started with the first dance of the night, when Jason was praising dancers Jake Monreal and Jenna Johnson. The “Talk Dirty” singer praised Jake and told Jenna, “You looked amazing,” adding, “I don’t know if you are involved, but if he liked it, then he shoulda put a ring on it, I’m just saying.” Which confused everyone, especially Jenna, who replied with “What?” and an uncomfortable laugh.

Later in the show, Jason must have still had Jenna on his mind because he got some names mixed up. All-star Comfort Fedoke and her partner, Tahani Anderson, had just danced to Sean Paul’s “Get Busy” and Jason said, “Really dope choreography by Sean Paul.” Nigel Lythgoe quickly corrected him, saying it was actually Laure Courtellemont who did the choreography.

Although, that wasn’t the end of the awkwardness. Nigel and Jason then got into a debate about the style of dance that Comfort and Tahani had just performed and where it originated. It made everyone else uncomfortable, and eventually Nigel broke the tension by telling Comfort, “You are moving parts of the body I didn’t know existed.”

So You Think You Can Dance airs Monday at 8 p.m. on Fox.
