In a precious new video on Instagram, the TV host documented Monaco’s first book launch party. The little girl — who Mai shares with ex Jeezy — looked beyond adorable in a silver ruffly black crop top and matching pants set, silver ballet slippers, and her hair in a pristine top knot for the special occasion.
A special occasion in which she had to learn how to surprise someone.
Mai demonstrated how by throwing her arms up and saying, “Surprise!” in the corner of a bookstore. Monaco enthusiastically copied her mom’s movements, and the way she said, “Surprise!” was everything.
“I love her little raspy voice. ??,” one person said, and many agreed.
“Coco’s raspy voice ??,” another commented. “‘suhhPWIZZE??,'” Mai responded.
Monaco later gave a big wave and “suhhPWIZZE” to the guest of honor, Tomi Adeyemi, author of Children of Anguish and Anarchy. The little girl and the author danced around and posed for photos with the book before Adeyemi went to speak to the large crowd of fans who had gathered to celebrate the new release.
“BABYYYYYY… I ??COULDNT??PUT??THE ??BOOK ??DOWN,” Mai wrote in her caption. “… this book had me talking to my own ancestors and excited to read it to Monaco one day so we could cheer on these ferocious Black female leaders like Zélie and Amari.”
To conclude the heartwarming video, Mai prompted her toddler to say congratulations to Adeyemi, and that’s where the raspiness really shined. “Co-RAY-shuns, Tomi!” she said sweetly.
Last week, Mai posted the sweetest footage of Monaco and her “baby bestie” and there were so many sweet glances and heartfelt hugs. At the end, they had a [raspy?] conversation that followers couldn’t hear, but they loved it nonetheless. “The Babies talking at the end was the icing on the cake ??”
