Jenelle Evans's husband, David Eason, called 'racist' and 'garbage' for posing with Confederate flag
Whelp, at least he doesn’t have to worry about being fired from Teen Mom.
Jenelle Evans’s husband, David Eason, faces criticism for unapologetically posing with a Confederate flag — widely viewed as a symbol of racism, slavery, and segregation in the U.S. — draped around his body while making a devil horns sign with his hand in an Instagram pic. The North Carolina resident wrote, “Where I’m from is who I am and my family fought and died for this land. Red white and blue comes in more than one pattern.” He added, “Dont argue just get off my page if you dont agree!” He tagged @rednecknation in the post and wrote “#RHEC,” an abbreviation for “raise hell eat cornbread.”

While some comments online supported Eason, who has a young daughter with Evans (“Good for you man,” “free speech,” and “hell yeah! If you think that flag is racist you need to be educated!”), he mostly got blasted. “Racist” was a frequent comment, but some elaborated:
“You are such garbage,” wrote one person.
“I don’t get why you seek this kind of attention,” posted another.
“You’ve got honestly the worst opinion I’ve ever seen,” wrote someone else.
“You obviously failed history,” wrote another commenter. “You know they lost right?”
One person posted, “The confederacy were literally traitors they left America, so supporting this flag is one of the most un-American things you can do.”
Another commenter added: “Unless your family is American Indian shhhsshhh.”
Eason hasn’t responded to the backlash, but his reality star wife posted a video to her Instagram Stories Sunday of an angry man poking fun at people for getting riled up over a social media post.
The pair have bigger problems than racist Instagram posts, though. Earlier this month, Evans called 911 to report she was assaulted during a dispute with her husband at their home. She claimed her collarbone was cracked in the incident. After the police report generated headlines, Evans publicly denied that they had a fight. She later came clean, but called it “a drunk and dramatic misunderstanding.” She added, “Everything is great. We are totally fine … just taking time off social media, time to focus on ourselves and our family.” Many of the comments on Eason’s Confederate flag photo mentioned the assault. For instance, these are two other comments: “I’m not saying he a racist but he definitely a woman beater” and “I only see a redneck who gets drunk & beats his wife.”
Eason doesn’t have to worry about this flag flap ruining his future with MTV. He was already fired by the network in February over homophobic comments he made online. He no longer appears on the show — though he certainly benefits from his wife’s paychecks.
And controversy has been great for her bottom line. When she pulled a gun — with her young son in the car — on a stranger during a road rage incident, the coverage of the show was nonstop.
