Jennifer Aniston Is Radiant in a Beaded Column Gown at the 2024 Emmys
The Morning Show’s Jennifer Aniston brought her star power to the Emmys red carpet as one of the night’s Best Actress in a Drama Series nominees. Aniston opted to wear a strapless beaded column gown to the ceremony, and she kept her diamond accessories elegant but minimal.
The 10-time Emmy nominee is competing against her co-star Reese Witherspoon in the Best Actress category, along with Carrie Coon (The Gilded Age), Maya Erskine (Mr. & Mrs. Smith), Anna Sawai (Shōgun), and Imelda Staunton (The Crown).
On the red carpet tonight, Aniston lavished praise on Witherspoon, telling Robin Roberts that “she’s like a sister. Obviously, we love to collaborate; it’s like secondhand when we speak to each other. We’re on the same page. We have an exquisite group of producers. We’re really lucky. We really have lucked out.”
In June, Aniston spoke to Quinta Brunson about her character, Alex, for Variety’s Actors on Actors series. She reflected on what was most exciting about playing the lead role in the show’s third season.
“Boy, there was a lot,” she started. “Getting to work with Jon [Hamm], because we’ve been friends for so many years. It was exciting to explore that side of Alex in that more feminine, romantic world. Also, there was a sense of kind of like, fuck it. Am I allowed to say that?”
She then continued, “Since the end of season 2—COVID—she had a near-death experience. And she was coming out of that world like, ‘Eff it, I’m going to go live a little bit and not be so perfectly coiffed Alex.’ And here she is, falling for this man who comes into the company, and of course, everyone’s like, ‘What is this guy all about?’ It brought a lot of stuff up for each character: What do they stand for, morally? You’re a female and you’re falling for this person, and then all of a sudden you’re like, ‘I’m a journalist and my journalistic integrity is at play here.’”
The Morning Show is now in production on season 4, and Aniston will return as Alex. In April 2024, showrunner Charlotte Stoudt told Deadline that season 4 will “get into the world of DeepFakes and AI and the misinformation in the fog of war that we’re seeing now in the Middle East and stuff. We’re looking at who can trust. And can you trust what you’re seeing? Can you trust yourself? Can you trust your news outlet?” Aniston seems excited about what’s next, having shared a behind-the-scenes picture in July, which she captioned, “Let @themorningshow season 4 games begin ?? Here we come! ??????????????”
