Jennifer Coolidge is in the Minecraft movie. What we know so far
"The White Lotus" star and Emmy Award-winning actress Jennifer Coolidge is going to be in the "Minecraft" movie.
Coolidge, a Massachusetts native, will be in the new movie alongside Jason Momoa, Jack Black, Emma Myers, Danielle Brooks and Sebastian Eugene Hansen in "A Minecraft Movie," the official name of the 2025 film, according to the "Minecraft" website.
For those not in the know, "Minecraft" is a massively popular video game where players traverse a pixelated world made of blocks that can be broken down into materials to craft tools and weapons to obtain better materials and defeat monsters.
The teaser trailer for "A Minecraft Movie" was released on Wednesday and garnered over ten million views on Youtube.
Who is Jennifer Coolidge playing in the Minecraft movie
Unfortunately, we do not yet know what character Coolidge will be playing in "A Minecraft Movie."
She did not appear in the teaser trailer posted this week; however, Coolidge is listed as one the stars appearing in the movie on the film's website.
We will have to see if she makes an appearance in future trailers, but, for now, we'll just have to wait in anticipation for what she has in store for us.
What is the Minecraft movie about?
In the movie, four mistfits – Garrett “The Garbage Man” Garrison (Momoa), Henry (Hansen), Natalie (Myers) and Dawn (Brooks) – are "suddenly pulled through a mysterious portal into the Overworld," the movie description reads. To return to their homes, they have to "master this world (and protect it from evil things like piglins and zombies, too) while embarking on a magical quest with an unexpected, expert crafter, Steve (Black). Together, their adventure will challenge all five to be bold and to reconnect with the qualities that make each of them uniquely creative…the very skills they need to thrive back in the real world."
What is Jennifer Coolidge known for
Coolidge is known for her extensive acting career which spans 30 years of movies and television.
Her breakout roles were in the 1999 movies "American Pie," and "Legally Blonde," and she would go on to feature on "Friends."
She has recently had a career renaissance with her role on HBO's "The White Lotus," where she played Tanya McQuoid, a role for which she received two Primetime Emmy Awards.
She was raised in Norwell and attended Norwell High School.
