Jennifer Lopez denies Alex Rodriguez cheated: 'I know what the truth is'
Jennifer Lopez is breaking her silence over reports that Alex Rodriguez has been unfaithful.
After the former Yankees star proposed last month, Jose Canseco posted a series of tweets claiming Rodriguez cheated on Lopez with his ex-wife, Jessica. In a new interview, J.Lo is firing back and defending her fiancé.
"I mean, it doesn't matter, I know what the truth is," Lopez said, addressing the accusations on "The Breakfast Club" on Wednesday. "I know who [Alex] is. He knows who I am. We're just happy."
Shortly after Canseco made headlines with his allegations — which Jessica Canseco denied at the time — a former Playboy Playmate came forward and accused Rodriguez of sexting with her earlier this year. But it doesn't sound like Lopez is sweating any of the tabloid nonsense.
"We're not gonna let other people come out and tell us what our relationship is," she continued. "I know what our relationship is."
The triple threat said there is no better match for her than A-Rod.
"We love each other, we do," she gushed. "We have a lot of love and respect and admiration for each other and that is so nice. I've also never been with somebody who lets me be the 'full shine J.Lo' and all the sides of me, that makes me really happy... he's like, 'Just go baby, just go.'"
As for their Bahamas engagement, Lopez said she truly was surprised.
"We had talked a little bit about it... but I didn't know he was going to propose that weekend," she admitted. "He was like, 'Let's just go away, let's just have a minute, just the two of us'... It was so amazing. And afterwards, I think the best part is we were both so happy. It was almost like a weight lifted off, like we knew we were going to be together, but until you take that step there's always like, 'Well, don't mess up!'"
The Hustlers star said that while Rodriguez did call her parents, he planned the engagement and got the ring "all by himself."
Lopez, who has been making the press rounds for her new single "Medicine," said they have yet to start planning their wedding.
"We just got engaged, and then right afterwards we started working right away and we're working the rest of the year, so I don't know what's going to happen," she said on WKTU's “Cubby & Carolina In The Morning.” "We haven't decided if we're going to squeeze it in somewhere or we're going to wait."
