Lopez performed two songs from the upcoming album, "This is Me... Now" and "Can't Get Enough feat. Latto," on Saturday Night Live Feb. 3 while "The Bear" star Ayo Edebiri hosted. Days before the show, comments Edebiri made about Lopez resurfaced, calling her career "one long scam" on a podcast in 2020. Lopez also addressed that in the Variety interview.
"She was mortified and very sweet. She came to my dressing room and apologized with tears in her eyes, saying how terrible it was that she had said those things. She felt really badly and loved my performance because we had just done my soundcheck and she actually got to hear me perform," Lopez recalled of Edebiri, who also said, "sorry, it was so awful of me.'"
"It's funny. I've heard similar things said about me throughout my career, so it really didn't affect me," Lopez told Variety about the incident.
