Jennifer Lopez cancels summer tour, Chicago concert off

CHICAGO — Jennifer Lopez has canceled her summer tour, which included a stop in the Chicago area, according to an announcement to her fans as reported by multiple entertainment outlets.

The 54-year-old singer and movie actress announced to fans that she would take time off to be “with her children, family, and close friends.”

A special message on Lopez’s website read:

“I am completely heartsick and devastated about letting you down.

Please know that I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t feel that it was absolutely necessary.

The more than 30-city tour, ‘This is Me…Now,’ was scheduled for the Allstate Arena in Rosemont on Friday, July 26.

Tickets purchased through Ticketmaster will be refunded. Resale site ticketholders, such as StubHub and VividSeats, are asked to contact their point of purchase for additional details.

At last check, about 25% of tickets remained available on Ticketmaster.com.
