Jesse McCartney Discussed the ‘Truth’ About This Misconception Surrounding Trying for a Baby
It seems Jesse McCartney is ready to be a dad, and it telling people the truth about trying to conceive a baby: it’s not as sexy as some people think.
While talking to Today about his new EP All’s Well. he discussed that he and his longtime love and wife, Katie Peterson, have been trying to have a baby.

“The truth is that it takes time, and you have to be ready to go at all times. It’s not necessarily always as sexy as people talk about,” he said, talking about how this inspired his song with Yung Gravy entitled “Make A Baby,” which is about “having to be prepared to ‘perform’ everywhere.”

He added that he knows his priorities will change after having a child, and he’s ready for that. “Everything that you’re doing (will be) for somebody else, I realize that. As much as I’m still going to try and have this great career and balance it all out, my priorities will change. That’s not lost on me,” he said, adding that he may even change his style of music after welcoming a future child to make them “super proud” of the music he makes.
We love that he’s so honest about how trying for a baby it’s all sexy, all the time, and that along with the honest thoughts, we also love that he’s ready for the changes fatherhood brings. Best of luck to the happy couple!
For those who don’t know, McCartney and Peterson have been together since 2012, but didn’t get married until Oct 2021 after a two-year engagement. They currently have no children, but from the sounds of McCartney’s interview tidbits, a kid may be on the way soon!
