Jessie Ware and Romy Want to ‘Lift You Up’ With New Collab
Romy and Jessie Ware are getting the day club energy going with “Lift You Up.” On Monday, the pair of artists officially released the single, which they premiered at Glastonbury over the weekend.
“I’ve been a fan of Jessie’s music for a long time and it was amazing to finally work together after many years of friendship,” said Romy in a press release. “We wanted this song to be uplifting, celebrate togetherness, and I can’t think of a better way to share it with everyone than at Glastonbury.”

Ware added that she was “so proud” of the song, and commended Romy’s “beautiful voice” on the Stuart Price-produced song. The new track marked a reunion for the pair after the former xx member joined Ware as a songwriter on Tough Love‘s “Share It All” in 2014.
“It’s a song that’s about both of us being too hard on ourselves, and not believing enough in ourselves,” Ware said of their new collaboration. “I think anyone can relate to that.”
On Instagram, Ware shared that they had “been in the studio” together. “I adore this person and we are so excited to share our song together to you. Proud of this one,” she wrote.
Romy released her first solo album, Mid Air, last year. She also dropped single “Always Forever” earlier this year. Meanwhile, Ware has been releasing remixed versions of standouts from That! Feels! Good! this year.
The new song also arrives after Romy and Oliver Sim joined Jamie xx onstage during his set at Glastonbury over the weekend, marking the xx’s first reunion onstage since 2018. Romy and Sim are also featured on Jamie xx’s upcoming album In Waves, on “Waited All Night.”
