Jimmy Fallon Campaigns for PEOPLE's Sexiest TV Host Title Ahead of Sexiest Man Alive Reveal

The 'Tonight Show' host made a plea to his fellow nominees Seth Meyers, Mario Lopez and Mark Consuelos to bow out of the race and let him win

Jimmy Fallon, we heard you loud and clear.

On the Sept. 18 episode of The Tonight Show, Fallon, 50, celebrated the fact that he's been nominated as one of PEOPLE's Sexiest TV Hosts in our reader's poll as he issued a plea to his fellow nominees to drop out of the race.

"I'm up against Seth Meyers, Mario Lopez and Mark Consuelos. Yuck!" Fallon told the audience, before he began making arguments as to why each of his competitors should concede to him.

"I'm very honored, but Seth would let me have this... He would want me to have this. He's a younger dude — let grandpa have one thing," Fallon joked.

After narrowing it down to Lopez and Consuelos, Fallon teased that they're both "fine" but "I think they would let me have it as well."

He then realized that the Live with Kelly and Mark and Access Hollywood hosts could "choose to be taken off the ballot," and he delivered a message to them both.

"Mark Consuelos, I'm going to ask you right now, please remove your name. from the ballot of People's Sexiest [TV Host]," Fallon said as he stared directly at the camera.

"Then it would be me versus Mario Lopez," he continued. "Then he'll go, like, out of respect, 'Jimmy, you got it.' He's been a guest on the show. Just let me have it."

Fallon then began sharing with the audience the PEOPLE "swag" he received, as he modeled the "I'm a PEOPLE Person" tote bag and pretended to be on a segway.

He then showed the PEOPLE hat he received as he pointed out that just like the magazine celebrated its 50th anniversary this year, he's also turning 50 this year. He noted, "Look at this. 'Established 1974.' You know what else is established in 1974? Me!"

"Are you kidding me? It should be a no brainer," he said after realizing he shares a birth year with PEOPLE.

Next up on Fallon's list of merch he wanted to show off was a PEOPLE's Sexiest Man Alive beach towel, which he laid out on the ground and posed as if he was on the cover of the magazine.

He closed out the segment by telling the audience, "Go to People.com and vote for the Sexiest TV Host!"
