Jimmy Fallon donates to RAICES in Trump’s name following Twitter attack
On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the late night host responded to Donald Trump’s Sunday night tweet attacking Fallon over his apology for that famous hair tousle when then-candidate Trump was a guest in September 2016. In a recent interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Fallon discussed the backlash he got from other comedians and from fans for “normalizing” Trump, who had angered many Americans with his divisive language.
“I did not do it to ‘normalize’ him or to say I believe in his political beliefs or any of that stuff,” Fallon told THR. Fallon later added, “I’m sorry. I don’t want to make anyone angry — I never do and I never will. It’s all in the fun of the show. I made a mistake. I’m sorry if I made anyone mad. And, looking back, I would do it differently.”
.@jimmyfallon is now whimpering to all that he did the famous “hair show” with me (where he seriously messed up my hair), & that he would have now done it differently because it is said to have “humanized” me-he is taking heat. He called & said “monster ratings.” Be a man Jimmy!

When Fallon learned he had been attacked by the president, naturally, he had some questions. “When I saw that Trump insulted me on Twitter, I was gonna tweet back immediately,” Fallon said, “but I thought, ‘I have more important things to do.’ Then I thought, ‘Wait – shouldn’t HE have more important things to do?’ He’s the president! What are you doing? Why are you tweeting at me?”
Fallon is just the latest in a long line of public figures to spark the president’s ire. “It’s pretty much the only thing I have in common with NFL players,” said Fallon, whose only direct response to Trump was to make a donation in his name to the Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services, otherwise known as RAICES.
In honor of the President’s tweet I’ll be making a donation to RAICES in his name.
