Jimmy Kimmel Issues Bold Political Response After Donald Trump Callout

Jimmy Kimmel is hitting back at Donald Trump after the former president took direct aim at him on social media.

In a disgruntled rant, the 78-year-old aired his grievances yet again in a post on Truth Social, saying the talk show host has "no talent."

Alongside a reposted video clip from the 2024 Oscars, where Kimmel—who was hosting the event—name-dropped the convicted felon during a comical monologue, Trump wrote, "Remember this? What a dope!"

"His wife and aunt begged him not to do it, and just before BEST PICTURE AWARD, yet," he continued. "He suffers from TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME. All of this on top of really bad ratings for Jimmy, just like failing Bill Maher and and the two clowns on CBS and NBC! NO TALENT EQUALS BAD RATINGS!!!"

Kimmel took to Instagram on Sunday, Oct. 6 to respond to the criticism, sharing a screenshot of the post.

"Thank you, former President Trump, for again reminding America that everyone laughed at you at the Oscars. While the haters say you should be focused on the “important” things, know that I appreciate you always including me and I look forward to visiting you often in jail. (PS - don’t forget to watch tomorrow night with my guest Gov Tim Walz!)," he sarcastically wrote in the caption.

"You go deep under the skin ! LOVE IT!!" one follower commented, in part, while several more chimed in with opinions on both sides of the matter.

During the March awards ceremony earlier this year, the 56-year-old took it upon himself to read Trump's disapproval of him and his hosting skills on stage—something he was advised against doing in the moment, according to Variety.

“Has there EVER been a WORSE HOST than Jimmy Kimmel at The Oscars,” Trump posted at the time. “His opening was that of a less than average person trying too hard to be something which he is not, and never can be…Also a really bad politically correct show tonight, and for years – Disjointed, boring, and very unfair. Why don’t they just give the Oscars to those that deserve them. Maybe that way their audience and TV ratings will come back from the depths. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Kimmel replied in real time by saying, “Blah, blah, blah … OK, now, see if you can guess which former president just posted that on Truth Social. Anyone? No?"

"Well, thank you, President Trump. Thank you for watching, I’m surprised you’re still — isn’t it past your jail time?” he quipped.
