John Stamos's 'Full House' cast members stunned to learn he took home this iconic prop from the show
John Stamos is bringing back a little familiarity during an unprecedented time.
The Full House actor presented what appeared to be the couch that was the centerpiece of the living room in the Tanner home on both the popular ‘80s sitcom and its 2016 reboot, Fuller House, as part of his own home decor Tuesday on Instagram. Only he was using it in a different way.
“Baby safety gate or one of the most iconic couches in pop TV history? You, make the call,” Stamos joked, alongside a photograph of his son Billy, who turns 2 on April 10, standing beside the couch. (Billy’s mom is Stamos’s wife, Caitlin McHugh.)
Recognize it?
Fans of the show loved it.
“Wow! You have it?! That’s so awesome. Iconic for sure,” one supporter wrote.
Another exclaimed, “Thanks for making this weird, emotional, scary time a little less stressful.”
They quipped things like, “That couch is my childhood” and, of course, “Have mercy.”
Stamos’s co-stars, though, had some questions about how the pop culture treasure ended up with him. Andrea Barber, at least, accused him of stealing it. Candice Cameron Bure seemed to think Bob Saget took it home.
The cast wrapped up filming of Fuller House in November, but the final batch of episodes is set to air on Netflix later this year.
