John Travolta is sending special birthday wishes to his late son, Jett Travolta.
The Grease star took to social media on Friday, April 12, to share a touching tribute to his firstborn child, who would have turned 32 on Saturday, April 13.
"Happy birthday my Jetty—not a day goes by where you’re not with me!" the 70-year-old actor wrote in his Instagram post late on Friday, sharing a sweet throwback photo from when Jett was a young boy.
Jett—whom John shared with late wife Kelly Preston—was just 16 at the time of his death in January 2009. Their family was vacationing in the Bahamas when Jett suffered a seizure and hit his head on a bathtub at their vacation home at the Old Bahama Bay Hotel on Grand Bahama Island.
Almost a decade later, Kelly died in July 2020 after privately battling cancer for two years. She was 57.
John's post on Friday featured an old photo of himself and Kelly smiling for a photo with Jett while on the set of the 1997 film Addicted to Love, in which Kelly starred alongside Meg Ryan and Matthew Broderick. In the wholesome throwback photo, Jett, around the age of 4 or 5 at the time, appeared to be smiling from ear to ear as his mom held him.
John and Kelly—who had been married since 1991—also share two other children: their younger son Benjamin, 13, and only daughter Ella Bleu, who celebrated her 24th birthday earlier this month.
