John Wick series director Chad Stahelski has revealed that Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has mentored him.

On the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Stahelski spoke with host Josh Horowitz about his interest in the upcoming Blade movie. The filmmaker revealed that Feige previously mentored him by giving him advice about beginning the John Wick franchise.

“Look, I’ve worked for Marvel a bunch, and they’ve been very, very good to me,” Stahelski stated. “Like Kevin Feige — he’s almost been a bit of a mentor in a capacity of advice that he was very happy to give me about how to open up a franchise with John Wick. “
