Jonas Brothers to star in Disney+ Christmas movie
‘Tis the season for a Jonas Brothers Christmas movie. Kevin Jonas, Joe Jonas, and Nick Jonas will star in Disney+’s Jonas Brothers Christmas Movie (working title), scheduled to premiere during the 2025 holiday season. In the film, the trio “face a series of escalating obstacles as they struggle to make it from London to New York in time to spend Christmas with their families,” per the logline. Oscar and Emmy winner Jessica Yu (Quiz Lady, This Is Us) will direct the film, written by Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger (I Want You Back, This Is Us, Love, Simon), who will also produce. The Jonas Brothers will serve as executive producers alongside Adam Fishbach, Spencer Berman, and Scott Morgan. Grammy nominee Justin Tranter is the executive music producer and will write original songs for the film. Watch their Love Actually-inspired announcement below.
New Sinners trailer showcases bloodthirsty vampires
The second trailer for Ryan Coogler‘s Sinners was released, offering a more in-depth look at the writer-director’s vampire horror thriller. Set during a single day during the Prohibition, Sinners, from Warner Bros., stars Michael B. Jordan in a dual role as twins. “Trying to leave their troubled lives behind, twin brothers return to their hometown to start again, only to discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back,” reads the synopsis. Hailee Steinfeld, Delroy Lindo, Wunmi Mosaku, Omar Miller, Jayme Lawson, and Jack O’Connell round out the cast. This is Coogler and Jordan’s fifth film together following Fruitvale Station, Creed, Black Panther, and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Sinners opens Friday, April 18.

Watch The Wedding Banquet trailer
Fresh off the film’s premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, Bleecker Street unveiled the trailer for The Wedding Banquet, Andrew Ahn‘s remake of Ang Lee‘s 1993 queer classic. In this version, after his boyfriend Chris (Bowen Yang) rejects his proposal, Min (Han Gi-Chan), a scion of a multinational corporate empire, proposes to their friend Angela (Kelly Marie Tran) so he can get a green card in exchange for him funding Angela and her girlfriend Lee’s (Lily Gladstone) IVF. “But their plans to quietly elope are upended when Min’s skeptical grandmother flies in from Korea unannounced, insisting on an all-out wedding extravaganza,” reads the synopsis. Joan Chen and Oscar winner Youn Yuh-jung co-star. The Wedding Banquet opens Friday, April 18.
The Love Is Blind Season 8 trailer is here
Netflix dropped the trailer for the Minneosta-set eighth season of Love Is Blind. The synopsis reads: “The hit reality series is back for an eighth season, following a new set of singles from Minnesota — all ready to cut through the static of modern dating and forge authentic relationships, sight unseen. This season, the singles form deep and immediate connections, setting the stage for an unexpected journey full of twists, turns and shocking revelations that will test each relationship well after the participants leave the pods for the real world.” The 12-episode season will premiere on Valentine’s Day with the first six episodes. Episodes 7 through 9 will roll out the following Friday, Feb. 21. Episodes 10 and 11 will be released Friday, Feb. 28, and the finale will drop Friday, March 7.
Las Cruces International Film Festival announced 10th anniversary events, honor for Helen Hunt
The Las Cruces International Film Festival announced that Helen Hunt will received the event’s “Outstanding Achievement in Entertainment” award this year. In addition to the honor, the festival will host a screening of As Good As It Gets at the Allen Theatres Cineport at 7 p.m. PT “along with an audience question-and-answer session.” Past recipients of the award include Richard Dreyfuss, Giancarlo Esposito, Brendan Fraser, George Lopez, William H. Macy, Edward James Olmos, Ron Perlman, Cybill Shepherd, and Danny Trejo.
“Recognized as the largest student-run film festival in the country, LCIFF has become a significant platform for aspiring filmmakers, industry professionals, and film enthusiasts alike, drawing nearly 10,000 attendees each year,” read a press release. “This year, LCIFF will screen over 100 films ranging from narrative features, documentary features, short films, animation, and music videos from 50 different countries.”
“This festival is not only a celebration of film but also an extraordinary opportunity for our students whose hard work and dedication make this event such a success,” said Ross Marks, founder and executive director of LCIFF. “Having been to over 60 film festivals as a filmmaker myself, it was my dream to create a world-class film festival in my hometown of Las Cruces, New Mexico with the students and for the students of New Mexico State University. The festival, now its tenth year, has exceeded even my greatest expectations.”
In addition to Hunt, Cyrus Nowrasteh will be recognized with the “Outstanding Achievement in Directing” award. The Opening Night film, Brewmance, features Alex Moffatt, Kennedy McMann, Steven Ogg, and Zoey Colletti and is directed by New Mexico filmmaker Keagan Karnes.
Bosch: Legacy final season premiere date set
The third and final season of Bosch: Legacy will premiere on Thursday, March 27, Prime Video announced. The first four episodes of the 10-episode season will be released on March 27 with two episodes dropping every week until April 17. Season 3 of Bosch: Legacy is based on Michael Connelly‘s best-selling novels Desert Star (2022) and The Black Ice (1993). The logline reads: “The murder investigation of Kurt Dockweiler brings dangerous secrets to light and threatens to ruin the lives of our three principal characters. The disappearance of a family haunts Harry Bosch (Titus Welliver) and forces him to confront the limits of justice. In a hotly contested race, Honey ‘Money’ Chandler (Mimi Rogers) is poised to become the next District Attorney of Los Angeles. And Maddie Bosch (Madison Lintz) gets entangled in a series of violent follow-home robberies.”
Laurence Fishburne, Hiroyuki Sanada set for Saturn Awards honorary awards
Laurence Fishburne and Hiroyuki Sanada will receive honorary awards at the 52nd Annual Saturn Awards. Fishburne will be honored with the Lance Reddick Legacy Award, handed out by LeVar Burton. Sanada will receive the Robert Forster Artist’s Award. Named after the late Robert Forster, a Saturn Awards friend and favorite, the award recognizes an actor for their work and impact on the industry. The Saturn Awards will be held on Sunday, Feb. 2.
