Judy Greer & Julie Benz Reveal The ‘Jawbreaker’ Fashions They Kept And Which Accessory Caused “A Big Rash”
A quarter of a century later, the high camp fashion of 1999’s Jawbreaker still has a chokehold on fans of the cult classic.
While reuniting for the Darren Stein-helmed teen movie’s 25th anniversary, Jawbreaker stars Judy Greer and Julie Benz looked back on their wardrobe from the set of the film and what they took home.

“I had some clothes for a little while, but I don’t remember what happened to them,” Greer told People after playing Fern Mayo, an awkward nerd who gets made over into the popular Vylette. “I had one of my ‘Vylette’ posters and I think it’s in a big tub of work mementos.”
Benz, who played mean girl minion Marcie “Foxy” Fox, recalled she “got to keep one outfit and it was the red, lacy, yellowy-orange top and skirt, and I think I wore that like 80 times until it fell apart. I loved that outfit.”
One item Benz wishes she kept was her character’s “Foxy” necklace. “I had one made for tonight,” she said. “But that necklace and my skin didn’t like each other. I developed a big rash from it.”
Greer and Benz reunited with Stein and co-star Rebecca Gayheart on Friday for a 25th anniversary screening at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles, followed by an afterparty hosted by Akbar Hamid and Evan Schwartz‘s newly formed F.L.U.I.D. production banner and social media platform Planoly.
Jawbreaker starred Rose McGowan, Gayheart and Benz as a group of popular teenage girls whose birthday prank on their best friend Liz (Charlotte Ayanna) accidentally results in her death. When the school outcast overhears their plans to cover up the death, they give her a makeover in exchange for her silence.
