Judy Greer & Mark Hamill Latest To Join Lionsgate’s ‘The Long Walk’
EXCLUSIVE: Judy Greer (The Best Christmas Pageant Ever) and Mark Hamill (The Life of Chuck) are the newest additions to the cast of The Long Walk, Lionsgate’s adaptation of the 1979 novel from Stephen King.
Details as to their roles are under wraps. As previously announced, Cooper Hoffman and David Jonsson will lead the ensemble, with Garrett Wareing, Tut Nyuot, Charlie Plummer, Ben Wang, Jordan Gonzalez, Joshua Odjick and Roman Griffin Davis also appearing.

Originally published under King’s pseudonym Richard Bachman, The Long Walk focuses on a dystopian America that is entertained by the Long Walk — a competition in which 50 teenage boys walk without rest. Each competitor must keep walking faster than three miles per hour — or risk being eliminated.
Francis Lawrence (The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes) is directing from a script by JT Mollner. Lawrence is also producing the project through his company about:blank, alongside Roy Lee, Cameron MacConomy — his producing partner at about:blank — as well as Steven Schneider.
Meredith Wieck and Erin Jones-Wesley are overseeing for Lionsgate, with Phil Strina negotiating the deals on behalf of the studio. Production is underway and will continue in locations throughout the province of Manitoba through the summer.
Recently wrapping Stampede Ventures’ action thriller The Fisherwoman opposite Emma Thompson, Greer will next be seen starring in The Best Christmas Pageant Ever for Lionsgate. Other recent projects include HBO’s limited series White House Plumbers, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and Hulu’s comedy series Reboot from Steve Levitan.
Hamill will next be seen starring opposite Tom Hiddleston in Mike Flanagan’s Stephen King adaptation The Life of Chuck, which is set to world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival. He is also a voice actor in Universal’s upcoming September release The Wild Robot also starring Lupita Nyong’o, Pedro Pascal, and Kit Connor.
Greer is represented by CAA, Artists First, and Felker Toczek Suddleson. Hamill is repped by Gersh and Kleinberg Lange Cuddy & Carlo.
