Julianne Hough names the ‘DWTS’ champion who didn’t deserve to win: ‘Not the best dancer’

Julianne Hough gets it.

The 36-year-old performer was asked on Sunday night’s “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” to name the celebrity that she “strongly disagreed” with winning “Dancing with the Stars.”

As Hough hesitated to answer, country music star Mickey Guyton, who was sitting next to her, said someone’s name under her breath.

“Oh! I think she has an answer for that,” Hough said.

“I said Bobby Bones,” Guyton, 41, replied.

“Yeah, I actually agree with you!” said Hough. “And I think it’s because of the fanbase, right? It’s all about the fanbase on that show.”

“He was not the best dancer, I agree,” she added about Bones, 44.

Guyton noted that “people love” the radio host, which Hough agreed with.

Cohen, 56, co-signed their comments and admitted he couldn’t remember who came in second on the “DWTS” season that Bones won.

Bones and his partner Sharna Burgess were named champion of Season 27 of the dance competition series in 2018.

Disney Channel star Milo Manheim and his partner Witney Carson were the runners-up.

Bones had low scores from the judges throughout the season, but he still won thanks to a major boost from the fan votes.

After Bones’ season, the show introduced the “judges’ save” as a way to stop the talented celebrity dancers from going home early.

“We have made some adjustments to the judging because we got a lot of complaints,” judge Carrie Ann Inaba told Entertainment Tonight in September 2019.

“We listened to what everybody said about what happened last year,” she added.

Despite winning Season 27 with Bones, Burgess, 39, was not invited back to compete on Season 28 in 2019.

Bones told ET he was “shocked” that his partner was excluded from the season that followed their victory.

“I think all of us were a little stunned by it,” the “American Idol” mentor said. “Now why [she was cut], I don’t really know. I don’t even know if they’ve told her.”

He continued, “She had been there the longest and was one of the more popular ones, so it could have been a budget thing. I’m not really quite sure how that happened but everyone was shocked by it.”

“DWTS” is set to return for Season 33 next month.

Hough and Alfonso Ribeiro will be back as the hosts. Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Derek Hough will return as judges.
