'Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom' released its first trailer (and it's awesome)
The first trailer of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom debuted during a Thursday Night Football commercial break — and it’s Juras-SICK! Here’s what you need to know.
Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard reprise their roles as Owen and Claire following 2015’s hugely successful reboot, Jurassic World, which brought in $1.67 billion in the worldwide box office. Jurassic Park alum Jeff Goldblum also returns to the franchise to reprise his role as Ian Malcolm. In the trailer, Goldblum is heard repeating one of his most memorable quotes from the original Jurassic Park film, in 1993. “Life cannot be contained. Life breaks free. Life finds a way,” says Goldblum.
Fan favorite Jurassic World velociraptor Blue, who rebelled against Indominus Rex to help protect Owen, is still alive! The trailer shows (what we assume is) a flashback of the moment Blue was born and imprinted on her trainer, Owen. Also still kicking it on Isla Nublar is the boss resident Tyrannosaurus Rex, named Rexy, who assisted in the demise of Indominus two years ago.
Owen tells Claire, “I know why we’re here. A rescue op? Save the dinosaurs from an island about to explode. What can go wrong?” We next catch them running amid a stampede of dinosaurs as Isla Nublar volcanoes erupt all around them. So, the answer, Chris Pratt, is … a lot can go wrong. This is Jurassic Park after all!
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom explodes into theaters on June 22, 2018.
