Moore continued, “At 94 years old, he’s still making films. I’ve been with him for 23 years. I always said I’d retire before he did and I haven’t retired yet.” Moore credits with Eastwood including the 4x Oscar winner’s highest grossing title, American Sniper ($547.6M) as well as The Mule, J. Edgar and more.
Juror #2 follows Nicholas Hoult as Justin Kemp, a recovering alcoholic-journalist who is awaiting his first child with his wife. He gets called to the jury of a murder trial in Georgia, and soon realizes he might be closer to the victim than originally realized. However to speak up and cover for a falsely accused man will risk it all for Justin.
The movie opens in limited theaters this Friday. If there’s one thing about Eastwood, whether it’s movies like Every Which Way But Loose or American Sniper — his movies play to the heartland.
Said Juror #2 screenwriter Jonathan A. Abrams, “This story – it’s an everyman story. We want the audience to watch the movie and put themselves in figurative and literal driver’s seat of the character that Nicholas Hoult plays.”
“This is something for all people, for Americans and beyond,” added Abrams.
Moore tells us, “Clint’s films always talk about different moral obligations. He loves heroes. A lot of films we do, if a person is put in a situation, what would you do?”
“We did that with Sully, we did that with 15:17 to Paris. Always putting the viewer that’s looking out there –What would you do in certain situations? What is your moral conscious going to say about this event that happens?”
“Everyone is going to see something differently and that is what Juror #2 is about.”
Hoult spoke about Eastwood’s efficiency in shooting and his reputation for getting an actor in one or two takes.
Said the actor who has a busy fall between Juror #2, Vertical’s The Order and Focus Features’ Nosferatu., “He also really respects his audience. he doesn’t judge or force things on people.”
