Justin Hawkins reacts to 'heartwarming' video of Taylor Swift singing along to 'I Believe in a Thing Called Love'

The Darkness frontman also shared a hand-written note from Swift after his family attended the Eras Tour.

Yes, Justin Hawkins has seen the video of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce singing along to his band’s song — and he’s obsessed with it too.

The Darkness frontman reacted to the viral clip in a Monday TikTok video, where he also opened up about the joyous experience of bringing his family to an Eras Tour concert in Switzerland.

“I woke up this morning and everybody’s forwarded me some footage of ‘I Believe in a Thing Called Love’ being played at the US Open,” Hawkins began. “And Taylor Swift and her partner, Travis, dancing along to it and really enjoying the music.”

Hawkins then shared footage of the moment, which sees Swift and Kelce jamming out to the 2003 rock song while attending the US Open men’s final on Sunday, Sep. 8. The clip includes Swift pointing at Kelce while mouthing along to the lyrics, “I wanna kiss you every minute, every hour, every day.” Further footage sees the Grammy-winner miming an air guitar and dancing to the music while her NFL star boyfriend grooves along with her.

“It was a really heartwarming moment for me and my little girl can’t wait to go tell her friends at school,” Hawkins continued. “So thanks Taylor, thanks Travis. Thanks everybody who enjoys tennis. That’s a really lovely start to the day. Nice one guys.”

Hawkins also gushed about his experience catching one of Swift’s concerts in Zurich, Switzerland.

“The hospitality they showed us was extraordinary,” he shared. “They put us in a lovely VIP area: I had Chris Rock on one side, Roger Federer on the other side. I was dad of the year.”

He added that the concert is also where he learned of Swift’s love for a certain Darkness tune.

“To make matters even more spectacular, Taylor Swift actually sent me a lovely letter which was waiting for me in the VIP section, talking about how much she loves the song ‘I Believe in a Thing Called Love,’” he said. “I was dad of the year, maybe dad of the century, because all of that was a big surprise.”

The note in question read, “Justin, what a thrill to have you at the show! I’m a massive fan of yours and think ‘I Believe in a Thing Called Love’ is one of the greatest songs of all time. I hope you and your family have fun at the show! Thanks so much for coming! Love, Taylor Swift.”

Besides boosting Hawkins’ reputation among his daughter's classmates, Swift has also had a tangible effect on the Spotify stats for The Darkness tune. Variety reports that on Monday, between 12 a.m. and 12 p.m., streams of “I Believe in a Thing Called Love” spiked nearly 70 percent on the platform in the U.S., with the band’s overall streams surging nearly 60 percent globally.

Swift, it turns out, is a documented fan of the song and once danced along to it for an Apple Music ad with the tagline “Dance like no one’s watching."
